Social Worker - Koropiko Ward, Mental Health Services for Older People Inpatients

Job Overview

Part‑time 0.5 FTE, fixed term until October2027, located at Middlemore Hospital, Ward22 Mental Health Services for Older People (MHSOP) – Inpatients.

Remuneration as per PSA Allied Health MECA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide acute assessment and management for older patients with mental health needs, including dementia and behavioural or psychological symptoms.
• Conduct ongoing psychosocial assessments, treatment and support interventions for service users on the ward.
• Guide families and service users through legal processes such as the PPPR Act.
• Work in partnership with patients and whānau to identify health goals and coordinate services to meet those goals.
• Collaborate with Charge Nurse Manager, Social Worker peers and the wider MHSOP team.
