Specialty Doctor in Obstetrics and Gynaecology

Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Specialty Doctor in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. This is a 12‑month fixed‑term contract with the option to become permanent. The role is for experienced doctors (RCOG Entrustability Level 4 or above) at the middle‑grade tier (specialist registrar level).

Key responsibilities

• Provide second on‑call obstetrics and gynaecology emergency cover on a full‑shift rota (8.30 am–9.00 pm, 1:8 rota) and additional 4/3 night coverage (8.45 pm–9.00 am), compliant with EWTD.
• Work dedicated specialist interest sessions with the option to develop office gynaecology / urogynaecology / colposcopy / ANDU / EPAU, and pursue RCOG ATSM/SITM training.
• Deliver care in the labour ward, gynaecology, antenatal clinics, theatre lists (with consultant backup) and independent colposcopy clinics (subject to accreditation).
