Role Overview

This role involves delivering tertiary‑level surgical care to plastic surgery cancer patients at The Christie, working under direct consultant supervision and integrating with multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in weekly Specialist Multi‑disciplinary Team (SMDT) meetings to triage patients for local or specialist surgery.
• Consult new and follow‑up patients in clinics supervised by a Consultant and supported by a Clinical Nurse Specialist.
• Identify and manage complex pre‑operative issues.
• Conduct daily teaching ward rounds, pre‑operative assessments and fixed theatre sessions.
• Provide emergency services across the directorate (gynaecology, colorectal, urology & plastics) as required.
• Engage in research, audit and clinical governance activities within the weekly timetable.
