Opportunity Description

WGN-TV is searching for a creative, informed, and innovative weekend Supervising Producer for the WGN Morning News. This position plays a critical role in the daily success of the show and requires a collaborative, adaptable journalist with line-producing experience. The right candidate may also serve as an Associate Producer multiple days during the week.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Produce strong, compelling newscasts with a focus on accuracy, pacing, and storytelling.
  • Serve as a collaborative team player, working closely with other producers, the digital/web team, field crews, and the Assignment Desk to maximize newsroom resources and reflect the most important news of the day.
  • Write clear, captivating news teases and stories; review and edit writers’ scripts while maintaining editorial standards.
