Opportunity Description
Overview
The Surgical Technician Student Extern functions as an integral part of the perioperative team as the first, or second Surgical Technician under the direct supervision of a Surgical Tech Preceptor and as well as the supervision of the Registered Nurse in delivering safe and effective care to the patient during the intraoperative period. This would allow the Surgical Tech Student to be better prepared to transition to their Surgical Tech role upon completion of their Surgical Tech Program enhancing the recruitment and retention of Surgical Tech Students.
Eligibility Requirement:
Candidates must be currently enrolled in a Surgical Technology Program and have begun the clinical portion of their training. Only applicants who meet this criterion will be considered for the position.
