System Engineer I

Purpose Statement

To support the engineering, implementation, maintenance and monitoring of the Capitec server and storage environment. The System Engineer I works closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure system reliability, performance and availability. The role focuses on operational support, troubleshooting, and assisting with system improvements to support business operations.

What you’ll be doing

• Support and maintain server and storage systems in a production environment
• Monitor system performance, stability and availability
• Assist with incident investigation, troubleshooting and resolution
• Support system configurations, implementations and upgrade
• Assist with change, release and basic deployment activities
• Perform routine maintenance and health checks
• Maintain accurate technical documentation
