Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)

CABVI is seeking a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to provide vision services to infant, preschool, and school-age children who are blind and visually impaired.

Job Duties Include:

• Teaches early development and educational skills including concept development, vision training, compensatory skills, self-help skills, communication skills and socialization skills.
• Plans, prepares and implements lessons as specified on the child's IFSP or IEP.
• Instructs students in the use of low vision aids and adaptive equipment; conducts non-physicians assessments of child's functional vision skills.
• Consults, teaches and provides support to family members, associated professionals, school districts, and other children's care givers and service providers.
• Represents CABVI in the community at professional, recreational and outreach activities associated with children's services.
