Job Description

The key function of this role is to provide basic metallurgical support for metallurgical engineers and TCS engineers in customer complaints, product development, and plant engineers.

Job Specification:

• Receipt, preparation, and metallurgical testing and evaluation of samples as required under the supervision of the senior engineer, metallurgical services, and development.
• Liaise with the originators requiring the work, and with mechanical testing laboratory workshop and analytical laboratory personnel on a daily basis.
• Operation of mechanical saws, guillotines, shears, grinding, and polishing equipment for preparation of samples.
• Adhere to set standards when preparing etching solutions and examination.
• Ensure correct sample preparation techniques and microscope set-up to enable accurate metallurgical evaluation of samples.
