Responsibilities
- Set‑up and operate special purpose equipment, conventional lathe/mill, and/or numerical control (NC) machines and machining‑centers.
- Fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts that meet high‑quality machine standards.
- Read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD & T) principles.
- Use algebra and geometry concepts to calculate and set controls for machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, depth and angle of cut.
- Retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media through command entry.
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent field with at least one year of relevant working experience.
- Ability to select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines.
