Emergency Department/Specialty Surgery Unit Registered Nurse

The ED/SSU RN functions primarily in direct patient care, and demonstrates competent clinical practice with a variety of patients. The RN in the ED/SSU works as part of a team with a common goal of offering patient centered, timely care, in a safe and friendly environment. The RN in this position offers individualized compassionate care to emergency department patients, observation patients, and outpatients. The RN acts to initiate immediate care in the absence of a physician, in life threatening situations. The RN pleasantly provides nonjudgmental care for the acutely ill, as well as the non-acute patient. This position requires the ability to perform multiple procedures, utilizing both complex and simple nursing skills.
