Temporary Summer Counsellor Role

Become a Temporary Counsellor with the York Region District School Board this summer, from June 29 to August 7, 2026. Your leadership will help create a fun and supportive program for participants.
This role requires energetic individuals aged 18 and older who can assist in planning and supervising various summer programs at multiple sites. Your positive influence and commitment to fostering an inclusive environment will be vital in ensuring all participants have a memorable experience. A mandatory training day is set for June 6, 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan engaging activities for summer participants
• Oversee participants during all program hours
• Show positive leadership and teamwork
• Participate actively in summer events and programs
• Complete mandatory training by June 6, 2026
Requirements:
• Minimum age of 18 by June 20, 2026
• Police Vulnerable Sector Check required
