Training Manager - Container Terminal

Overview

At the Port of Auckland, our Container Terminal operates in a high-risk, heavy industrial environment, where capability, safety, and performance are critical every day. We are looking for a Training Manager who is as comfortable out on the terminal with Stevedores as they are designing systems and strategy.

The Training Manager – Container Terminal role is about lifting operational capability at scale, modernising how we train, embedding smarter systems, and ensuring our workforce has the skills to perform safely and effectively.

Reporting to the Head of Terminal Planning, you will lead the Stevedore Training function and take ownership of how training is designed, delivered, and continuously improved across the terminal.

You will combine hands-on leadership, training needs analysis, and system improvement, ensuring training frameworks are aligned to operational demands, safety standards, and future workforce needs.
