**SUMMARY OF POSITION:**
The Transplant Financial Coordinator is a designated member of the Transplant Team and is assigned the primary responsibility of coordinating the financial aspects of care for transplant candidates, donors, and their families. This is a patient-facing position responsible for pre-transplant/implant financial clearance but also prior authorization procurement and maintenance. This position improves the patients’ financial experience by providing transparency on payer requirements, the patients’ estimated personal financial liability, and by connecting patients with other financial assistance if appropriate.
