Clinical responsibilities include trauma, emergency general surgery and surgical critical care. Resident/student education and research are also core components of the position. The trauma center is the 2ndbusiest in the state of Maryland, with a good mix of penetrating and blunt mechanisms of injury. Requirements include: board certification/eligibility by the American Board of Surgery with added qualifications in Surgical Critical Care, fellowship training in trauma/surgical critical care, related work experience, and demonstrated commitment toward research.
