Step into a leadership role as Rights & Title Director with Ulkatcho First Nation in Anahim Lake, BC, focusing on Indigenous governance and law. Shape the future by advancing Ulkatcho’ten rights.
This one-year fixed-term contract is crucial for the protection and advancement of Ulkatcho’ten title and rights interests. The successful candidate will report to the Chief Governance Officer and will engage in strategic negotiations with various governments, combining legal literacy with a strong understanding of Indigenous community needs. A strategic vision grounded in UFN’s history is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide strategic advice on legal and jurisdictional matters
• Develop and lead negotiations to strengthen UFN sovereignty
• Create policies for free, prior, and informed consent
• Collaborate cross-departmentally to achieve UFN goals
