Underwriting Specialist

In this role, you will assess medical and financial risks of applicants for life and health insurance policies. You will report to the Lead Underwriting Consultant, New Business, and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to evaluate the risk and exposures of potential clients.

• Assess medical and financial risks of applicants and lives to be assured for life and health insurance applications
• Make decisions, within the given authority, that are consistent with underwriting standards and compatible with market trends
• Review cases with complex medical conditions and multiple risk factors
• Process the insurance applications end-to-end
• Provide support and services to Financial Consultants on matters relating to underwriting
• Face‑to‑face service interaction with the sales team at PruBusiness Centre on New Business matters
• Be involved in ad hoc tasks assigned by Team Lead
