DEFINITION:

The Volunteer Fire Fighter is an At-Will, Volunteer employee who is appointed by and serves at the pleasure of the Fire Chief. The Fire Chief may cancel the appointment, with or without cause, at any time without a right of appeal.

The Volunteer Fire Fighter is a two-tiered program, members can be involved in either the Support role and an Active Fire and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) role.

The Active Fire and EMS role is responsible to protect life and property using skills obtained through experience, education and training. These skills may be used in a wide variety of tasks including, but not limited to, emergency response, public education and community involvement.
