Youth Mentor
The Opportunity
The Youth Mentor will work for the Empowerment Through Wellness to Prevent Gun Violence Initiative to deliver youth-focused gun violence prevention and community violence intervention programming.
Responsibilities
+ Conduct weekly face to face mentoring sessions with participants.
+ Identify high risk behaviors in youth and provide mentoring services to intervene in continued high risk activity.
+ Participate in case conference meetings as scheduled and work collaboratively with case manager, therapeutic counselor, court staff and community resources working with participant.
+ Respond to participant emergency notifications.
+ Document all their daily activities, including but not limited to contact with program participants, conflict mediation encounters, and community engagement events.
